Fyfe – 07/04/2013

Fyfe is the current alias to Paul Dixon, formerly of David’s Lyre. He is a singer-songwriter that has created a lot of hype recently and, finally, his debut EP is here: Solace. Solace was released earlier today and has 4 tracks on it, which add up to just over 12 minutes long. While Dixon has kept his personal, lilting way of singing, he has moved away from the folk side of things and gone towards alternative and indie rock/pop. The EP starts off with an intro, which is an intriguing piece that slowly builds before dropping into the single St. Tropez, on which his vocals have a lovely cadence. From there it progresses into Lies and then Solace, which was also released as a single and is the longest song on the EP. This collection is very exciting and I am anticipating his next release already. If you enjoy this, check out Picture Of Our Youth. 7.3/10.
